Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has been organizing and hosting international conferences since 2005 under the broad theme of scientific, technological and industrialization. The conferences act as a platform to bring together researchers, industrialists, policymakers and funding organs so as to achieve the synergy necessary for industrial development. The conference involves oral and poster presentations. In addition, exhibitions highlighting technological innovations tailored towards industrialization are held.

The conference will be broad with topics including, but not limited to:

1. Agricultural science and technologies for sustainable food and nutritional security
2. Basic and applied sciences for advancement of research and industrialisation
3. Engineering technologies, built environment and infrastructure for industrialisation
4. Information and communication technology for development
5. Policy, governance, entrepreneurship, cultural and socio-economic aspects for competitive advantage
6. Advances in medical and veterinary sciences for quality life
7. Water, Energy, Environment and climate change management for suistainable development

The objectives of the conference are to:

1. Provide a forum through which the University will showcase the ongoing contributions it is making to the society.
2. Create a forum for constantly improving the University’s approach to development-oriented scientific research, as it strives to remain a leader in this area.
3. Provide a forum for research peers from local and international institutions to discuss, share and publish vital information.
4. Provide an opportunity for the industrial/business sectors and policy makers to interact with researchers, so as to get new ideas and products for infusion into the production system and re-search.
5. Provoke policy makers to appreciate the need for substantial and long-term investments in scientific research, innovation and industrialization.
